Stock photos don’t have to be dull, generic or unrealistic. If you’re looking for authentic or exclusive video/photo content for editorial or marketing purpose, create a task.
What is a task?
A task is a photo/video request that is sent to our network of over 640,000 amateur photographers around the world. Tasks can be local, national or global, depending on your content requirements.
Tasks also help you engage with your audience: in addition to Scoopshot’s global network, you can reach out to your own social media following and get them involved. People love seeing their work featured in brands’ and publishers’ editorial and marketing campaigns!
Creating a task
1. To create a task, decide what you are looking for and write a description explaining this, including whether your want to receive photos or videos or both.
2. Price. Yes money. How much are you prepared to pay for the content you buy? You’re not obliged to buy any of the photos or videos if they don’t meet your requirements. But we recommend that you set the price paid to the photographer at a minimum of $5 per item purchased.
3. Exclusivity, do you want to keep these photos all to yourself and prevent them being used by others? You can create an exclusive task to ensure you’re the only person/company that can purchase and use the photos/videos submitted — brands often choose to do this.
4. Location is also a factor that you can control. It is possible to request photos from photographers in specific countries or globally, but remember, the wider the net the more photos and videos you’ll have to choose from.
5. Send that task! Every Scoopshooter in the geographical area you selected will receive a push notification about your task and the submissions will start rolling in.
6. Buy the best photos/videos at the price you set, remember to give credit to the photographer when you publish their work.
